Naan bread is the perfect scoop for sloppy Indian foods and as a base for spreadables like hummus. I recently made some to accompany a thick curried soup and it worked quite well. Naan is traditionally made in a tandoor, or clay oven. This recipe that I found calls for cooking on a grill. I used my electric griddle, and they turned out looking a bit like pancakes. But they tasted decent. Not what you'd find in an Indian restaurant, but tasty in its own right, and easy to make.
I adapted the recipe here, using the suggestions made in the comments by other cooks. Here's my version.
